Artists Open, presented by Fountainhead

May 13 2023
All Day

Deering Estate, 16701 SW 72nd Avenue, Palmetto Bay Fl 33157

In partnership with Miami Dade County & Deering Estate, Fountainhead presents Artists Open, a Miami Dade County-wide open studios event welcoming the public into over 300 artists’ studios. Learn more about the event and browse the online directory at www.artistsopen.miamiThe Artist Open event happening at Deering will be from 11 AM – 6 PM (gates close at 4 PM).

Artists Open is designed to eliminate barriers of entry into the arts by inviting the public to engage with artists in their studios – a perspective of the artist’s practice that is rarely seen. This open studios event encourages locals to see artists as approachable and accessible, and facilitates a more intimate relationship between artists and local audiences. With many artist studios located in areas that lack significant cultural offerings, Artists Open ensures that people across Miami-Dade County can form bonds with the art-making that takes place right in their own backyard. Many of the works within artists’ studios will be available for sale, further cementing the program’s intent to make artists’ careers more sustainable.

Artists-in-Residence Andres Cabrera-Garcia and Gretchen Scharnagl will be in their respective studios ready to show their work while Artists-in-Residence Vanessa Lustig, Noreen Morelli and Enma Saiz will be showing their work in the Pump House. There will be a digital display showcasing the work of AIRs Jeanne Jaffe, Liene Bosque, Diana Eusebio, Meg Wallace, and Pangea Kali Virga inside the Pump House as well.

COST: FREE with RSVP (members and non-members). Tickets are limited! RSVP online & show RSVP at the Main Gate entrance for entry.
