The 2024 Member Appreciation Day will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 10 am to 4 pm. This is our time to say, “thank you” and to honor and celebrate Deering Estate Foundation members.

Member Appreciation Day is set aside for you to come to the estate and enjoy some outside down time complete with complimentary lunch, ice cream, activities, and other goodies and surprises. It promises to be a fun day for the entire family.

Thank you for your support and membership. It allows the Deering Estate Foundation to fulfill our mission of enhancing and preserving the Deering Estate!

Nature Preserve Tours: 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.
Join our naturalist staff for a hike through the Deering Estate’s protected natural areas. Along the way, learn about native plants and animals and the Cutler Burial Mound.

Deering Contemporary Exhibition “Interlocking Dimensions: Eco-Art”

Deering Contemporary Program:
Weaving With Plants Workshop with PANGEA KALI VIRGA
11 a.m.
Location: Pump House and Fig Garden
Join local fiber artist and fashion designer Pangea Kali Virga to learn basic weaving with plants at the Deering Estate. Learn how to create your own weaving using materials harvested at the Deering Estate such as palm fronds, vines, and leaves. Leave with your own weaving to take home! This workshop is welcome to all ages with all materials being provided. The Plant Weaving Workshop corresponds with Pangea’s installation All Material Comes From The Earth, currently on view as part of the Deering Contemporary exhibition Interlocking Dimensions: Eco-Art. This three-part workshop series explores various ways we can integrate plants into style, textiles, and fashion.

Location: Meet at Hear/Here Mangrove artwork near the boat basin
Join artist Meg Wallace for a tour of her exhibit and a walk through the mangroves to learn how to absorb and observe nature through all of your senses.

Interwoven Echoes: A Contemporary Dance Performance by Artist in Residence (AIR) Nicole Pedraza

Join Artist-in-Residence Nicole Pedraza for one-of-a-kind arts experience seamlessly weaving together the worlds of dance, live music, and the beauty of nature, promising an unforgettable experience that challenges conventional notions of performance art.
